theme-factory

What it is.

It shows you a PDF of all 10 themes, waits for an explicit choice, then applies that theme's palette and font pairing across the deck, document or page you already built.

Each theme is a file with hex codes and fonts, so the result is repeatable and next quarter's deck matches this one. When none of the presets fit, it generates a new theme from a short description and shows it before applying.

What you get.

  • Ten preset themes, each with a palette in hex and a font pairing
  • One PDF displaying every theme, to choose from before anything changes
  • Consistent application across every slide or section, from one theme file
  • A custom theme generated from a description when the presets miss
  • A contrast and readability pass as part of applying it
HOW TO USE IT

How to set it up.

1

Install the example-skills plugin from the anthropics/skills marketplace.

2

Build the deck, document or page first. This skill styles something that already exists.

3

Ask to see all 10 themes. It displays them and waits for an explicit choice instead of picking for you.

4

Name the theme you want. Confirmation is a required step, so an unconfirmed request stalls.

5

For a brand match, describe the palette and mood and let it generate a theme, then review it before it gets applied.

6

Keep the generated theme file. Reusing it is what makes next quarter's deck match this quarter's.

Use cases

Styling a finished deck

The content is done and the slides look like defaults. Ask to see all ten themes as a PDF and name your pick, then the palette and font pairing apply across every slide at once.

Brand match with no kit

The client never sent brand guidelines. Describe the palette and the mood, then review the generated theme before it applies, and the internal deck gets close enough.

Matching last quarter's look

Next quarter's deck should look like this one. Keep the theme file from the first run and reuse it, since the file holds the hex codes and fonts that make the two match.

One look across formats

A campaign spans a deck and a landing page. Apply the same theme file to both, and the set holds together as one body of work.

Best for

A deck that has content but no design

One theme choice moves the whole deck at once, which is faster than styling slides individually and more consistent.

Landing pages and reports as well as slides

The same theme applies to HTML pages and documents, so a campaign holds together across formats.

Approximating a brand you have no kit for

Custom theme generation from a description gets you close enough for an internal deck.

Questions about theme-factory

How many themes are there?
Can it match our brand colors?
Does it work on things other than decks?
Does it pick a theme for me?

Questions about Content & Creative

How many fonts should a deck use?
Does a color system matter internally?
Strengths
  • Waits for an explicit choice, which turns styling into a decision you made.
  • Every theme is a file with hex codes and fonts, so the result is repeatable.
  • Applies across decks, documents and pages from one definition.
  • Free inside Anthropic's example plugin under Apache 2.0.
Limitations
  • Ten presets is a small set, and none of them are your brand.
  • The custom theme path is generated from a description, so it approximates a brand kit and does not replace one.
  • Aimed at slide decks first, so complex page layouts need more direction.
  • A demonstration skill, with Anthropic's caveat attached.
Skip this if
  • Skip it if you already have brand hexes and font pairings settled.
