content-repurposing

What it is.

You give it one finished long piece and it produces 3 to 5 medium-form derivatives, then short-form below those, converting format by format for whichever platform you name.

The pyramid marks the effort at each tier, so the pillar is visibly the expensive part and everything under it is cheap. That is the argument for making fewer pillars and working them harder.

What you get.

  • A pyramid mapping one pillar piece to its derivative formats
  • 3 to 5 medium-form pieces per pillar, named by format
  • Short-form atomization below that
  • Format conversion for a specific target, such as a blog into a thread
  • An effort label per tier, so the plan is resourceable
HOW TO USE IT

How to set it up.

1

Install with npx openclaudia install content-repurposing.

2

Start from a finished pillar piece. The pyramid needs a top, and repurposing a thin post produces thin derivatives.

3

Take 3 to 5 medium-form pieces from each pillar. Below that you are leaving value behind and above it you are repeating yourself.

4

Match the format to the platform instead of reposting the same text. A LinkedIn article and a newsletter want different openings.

5

Atomize into short-form last and work from the derivatives, which keeps each piece self-contained.

6

Schedule the derivatives across weeks. Publishing the whole pyramid in two days wastes the reach.

Use cases

Mining a webinar archive

A season of recordings sits unwatched. Feed one transcript in as the pillar and the pyramid returns a handful of medium-form derivatives named by format, with short-form pieces atomized beneath them.

A guide into a thread

You want last month's long guide on a social platform without reposting the same text. Name the target format and the conversion rewrites the opening for that platform, so nothing gets pasted in whole.

Planning a lean quarter

A small team has a publishing target and one strong piece a month. The effort label on each tier makes the plan resourceable, so you can schedule the cheap derivatives across the weeks between pillars.

Best for

One good piece and no distribution plan

The pyramid gives you 3 to 5 further pieces from work you already did, which is the cheapest content you will publish.

A webinar or podcast archive

Long recordings are the best pillar input and the least often mined.

A small team with a publishing target

Fewer pillars worked harder is the strategy the effort labels point at.

Questions about Content & Creative

What makes repurposing worth doing?
Which format should come first?
Strengths
  • Names the derivative count per pillar, so the plan has a number in it.
  • Labels effort per tier, which turns the diagram into a resourcing decision.
  • Handles format conversion for a named target instead of generic reposting.
  • MIT licensed, runs locally, installs as a single skill.
Limitations
  • Quality is capped by the pillar. A weak long piece produces weak derivatives.
  • It converts and it will not publish. Scheduling is a separate job.
  • Part of a large library, so read the specific skill file before assuming depth.
Skip this if
  • Skip it if you already turn pillar pieces into smaller ones by habit.
